Our PreSchool Business Hours

Mon-Fri :

06:00 am - 06:00 pm

There is a $25.00 late fee for pick up after 6:00pm. 6am-6pm is a 12 hour block of time where your child is in someone else's care. That is a loooong time for a parent to be away from a toddler but even longer for a child to be away from his/her parent(s).Think of how hard it is to be the last child to be picked up.Thank you for understanding!

A cardboard brick city by Jayden "LOOK AT WHAT I DID!!! I built a city": Kids Making Change!

KMC Academy offers preschool education for students ages 1-6 and academic support for school aged children who require special education services because of a disability.

We offer one-on-one and/or small group instruction, itinerant services and alternatives for curriculum or teaching modifications.

Access to specialized services such as physical, occupational and/or speech therapy is provided in accordance with an Individualized Education Program (IEP).

KMC Academy also encourages parental participation and partnership at IEP meetings at the request of the parents/guardians of students through age 12 who are enrolled in our school program.

Foundational support is a start in the right direction to elevate children and KMC considers the lack of proper foundational education from 0-3 years of age to be a big part of the problem. Starting kindergarten without letter sound recognition and number value basics is where the battle lies. It places the child in a 5 year deficit!

Salaries may be reflective of substandard education and getting a late start:

KMC is a 501(c)3. Why not you support a child who would otherwise be at home watching television? Or Contribute to the purchase of materials and equipment for KMC Academy kids? Here is a fact based chart of why the need exists. We make tremendous sacrifice to do what we do here at KMC. Howard Garner, (1983)

Everyone has all   types of the intelligences at varying levels of aptitude:

1) Interpersonal

2) Existential

3) Verbal Linguistic

4) logical/Mathematical

5) Visual/Spatial

6) Musical/Rhythmic

7) Bodily Kinesthetic,

8) Naturalist

9) Intrapersonal

There may be even more that are still unveiled. All learning experiences do not have to relate to a person's strongest area of intelligence. For example, if someone is skilled at learning new languages, it doesn’t emphatically mean that they prefer to learn through lectures. Someone with high visual-spatial intelligence, such as a skilled painter, may also benefit from using rhymes to remember information. Learning is fluid and complex. It is important to avoid labeling students as one type of learner.  "When one has a thorough understanding of a topic, one can typically think of it in several ways," (Howard Gardener).

Isn't she lovely in her l red dress?!There, she stand next to her handsome brother.

They are cute and they can sing and

dance, but can they read?

Students from 0-5 should be ingesting information that encourages reading, math, social and scientific skills. They should be practicing healthy  behaviors daily in preparation for kindergarten and life in general. Kids are just little adults with limited knowledge that they acquire over years of practice.

At KMC Academy, we believe that training children in the way in which he or she should go, when they are old they will not depart from it. Learning and child rearing starts at home

 with healthy parents.

Life happens but most of the time healthy parents mean healthier children.

2. Another interesting fact is that 50% of all children who do not receive high quality early education will be placed in special education programs.

3. By the age of 5, your child's brain is 90% developed.

There are 13 categories of special education as defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

The American Heart Association recommends that children age 2 and older participate in at least one hour of physical activity every day that is developmentally-appropriate, diverse, and enjoyable.  Moreover, recent studies have revealed lifelong social, physical, and mental benefits of exercising from a young age.
